Stop sending paid clicks to the homepage

The homepage is too general for a paid click. An isolated funnel is one ad promise, one page promise, and one primary CTA. That is the June 2026 copy plan, not a flight result.

Published 2026-09-09 · Search job: landing page testing paid ads

Landing page testing for paid ads starts by taking the homepage out of the click URL. The homepage is a broad product explanation. It is too general for learning which cold-market promise makes a technical founder, builder, agent operator, or small team take the next step.

An isolated funnel is one ad promise, one matching page promise, one primary CTA, one secondary capture offer, and one measurement goal. The point is to stop mixing "AI chat," "no sales call," "agent testing," "API quickstart," and "founder first test" on the same landing page. That definition is from the June 2026 copy and isolated-funnel plan. It is operator judgment, not a judged flight winner.

What each funnel has to name

Every isolated funnel should define:

  • Audience: who the copy is naming.
  • Pain or job: what the buyer is trying to accomplish.
  • Primary promise: the one sentence the ad and the page both repeat.
  • Primary CTA: the action that proves high intent.
  • Secondary CTA: the lower-friction capture.
  • Lead magnet: the email reason, if the visitor is not ready for signup.
  • Proof block: product facts that support the promise.
  • Conversion goal: email capture, signup started, account created, API key created, funding link started, or campaign created.
  • Disqualifier: what the page must not drift into.

The rule for a paid wave: one message family per campaign, ad group, and page cluster. Do not rotate broad generic creatives into a specific page test unless they are the holdout control.

Why the homepage fails the test

A homepage has to introduce the whole product. A paid click arrives with one sentence still in the visitor's head. If the page answers a different sentence, you did not test the ad. You tested bounce.

The highest-priority marketing question is not "does Adprime Zero sound good?" It is "which specific promise makes this person take the next step?" Each click should answer a clear question. The six angle keys we are willing to pay to learn live in Six angles we are willing to pay to learn.

What this page is not

This is not a Supply Bench article. /sb pages are consumer probes for inventory quality. They are not Adprime signup funnels. See Consumer probes vs product ads.

It is also not a claim that any isolated funnel has already won. The June 2026 plan is the method. The next judged wave should publish a result, not a second plan that restates the method.

If you are about to point a 300x250 at /, stop. Write the one promise first. Then pick the page that repeats it.
