Programmatic ads for startups

What a startup can actually buy on Adprime Zero: prepaid remnant display through dashboard, API, CLI, or MCP. Not a full DSP. Not Google Ads.

Most "programmatic for startups" pages describe a trading desk you will not get.

Adprime Zero is prepaid agent advertising. You open an account online, add budget on a hosted payment page, submit a creative and a landing page, and run a campaign from the dashboard or from an agent that speaks API, CLI, or MCP. There is no insertion order, no sales call, and no monthly retainer to start a first test.

That is the whole honest scope. It is not The Trade Desk. It is not Google Ads. It is not a self-serve DSP with a planner, deal desk, and twenty inventory packages. If you need those, you still want a trader or a platform built for that job. See when you still want a trader.

What a first test actually is

A startup test on this product is usually a small daily cap on open-exchange display. Twenty dollars a day is the size we use in the Cursor launch prompt. The campaign spends from a prepaid wallet. When the wallet is empty or the daily cap is hit, delivery stops. You are not invoiced later for a number you did not fund.

The agent path is the same account as the browser path. Cursor, Claude, ChatGPT, or Codex can create targeting, submit creative, request a funding link, and read performance. The agent should not invent exchange object IDs and should not collect cards. Card entry stays on the hosted payment page.

Creative review and destination checks still happen. Those are platform checks, documented in product docs. They are not the reason to buy. The reason to buy is that an agent can iterate campaigns without a DSP login or an agency brief.

What remnant display will and will not tell you

Open-exchange display is leftover inventory. It is useful for learning whether a message and a page survive a cheap click, and for watching which placements and domains eat the budget. It is a poor place to read "brand safety" or "quality" from CTR.

Our August 2026 Supply Bench pull (partial coverage of two waves) found 1,149 placements and 1,535 domains. 93.4 percent of those placements had zero clicks and took $202.77, 64 percent of observed spend. Seven domains produced 41.3 percent of clicks from 4.7 percent of impressions. Unauthorized ads.txt spend in that slice was $0.48. No IVT vendor was attached, so we will not call the flight clean or dirty from a fraud rate.

That grain is the point. Run a test, then read concentration and click-to-page-view instead of celebrating CTR. Anonymized main-seat brand-name display flights sat at 15.85 percent click-to-page-view when usable and 3.75 percent when not.

What you skip

You do not need an insertion order, a sales call, a retainer, a DSP seat, or a QPS conversation to launch the first cell.

You do need a landing page that matches the ad, a prepaid balance, and a willingness to judge visits and waste grain rather than CTR. What you do not need before the first test lists the rest.

When this is the wrong product

Choose something else if you need reserved media, private marketplaces as the default path, custom bidding agents, or front-end QPS templates. Those are account-manager and trader tools. Adprime Zero compiles buyer targeting and campaigns. It does not replace a seat-level traffic template redesign.

Choose Google Ads or Meta if search and social are the job. Display remnant does not replace intent keywords or a social graph. The job split is in Google Ads vs open-exchange display and Meta ads vs display tests.

If you want the first test anyway, start from Buy ads without an agency or paste the Cursor prompt and keep the daily cap at $20.
