Open exchange
Unreserved remnant auctions across SSPs. The default path our public display tests have actually flown.
Published 2026-09-09 · Search job: open exchange advertising
Open exchange is the unsold, unreserved auction path. Many publishers, many SSPs, leftover banner slots. You are not buying a guaranteed package. You are bidding on what is still for sale.
That is the path Adprime Zero first tests use. It is also why CTR misleads. Leftover inventory is good at producing clicks. Our August 2026 Supply Bench pull (partial coverage) found 1,149 placements, 93.4 percent with zero clicks taking 64 percent of observed spend, and seven domains at 41.3 percent of clicks from 4.7 percent of impressions. Unauthorized ads.txt spend was $0.48. No IVT vendor was attached.
Open exchange is not a private marketplace and not a deal. You can still curate after you see grain: inventory-source allowlists, placement and site excludes. You cannot pick the zero-click list before the first flight. That is the argument for scan-then-exclude.
The mapped writeup is open exchange waste. Dated numbers live on the scorecard.
