Segment

A catalog audience key you attach to targeting. Use the returned id, not the display name. Unknown keys are rejected.

A segment is an audience list from a data catalog (LiveRamp and other providers on the exchange). You include or exclude it on a targeting set. The product resolves every submitted key against third_party_segment_catalog and stores data CPM, reach, and policy tier. Unknown keys are rejected. They are not silently dropped.

Discover first: GET /targeting/reference/segments, MCP discover_segments, or ztdsp targeting discover-segments. Use the returned id as the key, not the marketing name. Show estimated data CPM before you attach the segment. Data CPM is extra cost on top of media CPM.

Sensitive tiers need a person to review. That is a catalog policy, not a reason to describe the product as a safety brand.

Segment targeting is catalog-first and enabled on the public path. It is not a substitute for a matching landing page. A precise segment on a mixed homepage is still a mixed test.
