Placement
A specific ad slot on a site or app, identified by an exchange handle and placement id. Most remnant placements we bought did nothing.

A placement is one ad slot: a page position or app unit sold under an id. On this seat the targeting value looks like <exchange_handle>/<placement_id>. It is a direct key. It does not need a reference list object. Site is the same shape. Domain still needs a list.
That distinction mattered. We once treated placement excludes as blocked on a missing custom_list. They were not. Placement and site are actionable. The correction is in supply audit placement and site.
Most remnant placements spend and never click. In the August 2026 Supply Bench pull (partial coverage), 1,149 placements appeared; 93.4 percent had zero clicks and took $202.77, 64 percent of observed spend. You cannot hand-pick that list before the flight. Scan, then exclude.
Stored audit keys are composites (EXCHANGE|handle/id). The Beeswax value is the part after the pipe. Sending the un-split key matches nothing and tells you the placement was excluded while it keeps serving.
